In 1976 Gérard Blain directed a fairly good film, "L'Enfant dans la Foule" (A Child in the Crowd). But as there is in it too much criminality it is not an item for which we can unreservedly care. Five years earlier, though, in 1971, M. Blain had directed "Les Amis" (The Friends), which we find much more acceptable. Paul is sixteen and loves elegance; he is conducting a relationship with a wealthy businessman. It goes on for an hour and twenty-eight minutes, and its language is French with a separate file of English subtitles.
