I'm unsure which is the more shameful - the fact that this happened in the first place or the fact that these admissions have taken so long to emerge when, of course, they could and should have done so immediately following the tragic incident.

I share your feelings here, Mr H. The wrongdoing - whether accidental as the officer claimed, or deliberate as his superiors have now ruled, was greatly exacerbated by the campaign of denials and stonewalling that followed. They were denials and rejections we saw repeated in other places too

The met appear to be a law unto themselves, even fixing up that tory chap who called em plebs as he left downing street, of course, plebs will be plebs.

Paradoxically, the greatest criminal mastermind at my school became a policeman, so I have absolutely no confidence at all in their individual or collective integrity. Nevertheless, it is still possible to argue that it is a tough job, and someone has got to do it. I, for example, will generally duck the challenge when faced with a violent confrontation on the streets of London, or elsewhere. By all means, call the police, Jason. But if they are about to set you up, call a good lawyer, too! As for plebs, well, the best insults are possibly too close to the knuckle for comfort, so to speak. I am, ultimately, proud to be a pleb!
