Mary Anna Lupton was born in 1830 in Greenwich, and married John Hodder Needell of Dorset. She wrote mainly under the name "Mrs. John H. Needell".
Her twelve published novels are:
1) Ada Gresham: an autobiography (1853, 3 vols, at the British Library but not down-loadable)
2) Catherine Irving (1855, 3 vols, packed together by the British Library)
