Post-card number fiveThe reverse reads "Cave No. 17." There is a web-site showing views of many of these caves: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajanta_CavesBut not the part of cave 17 seen here. The closest I have come to India are the aero-dromes at Bombay and Calcutta, whence the primitive customs of some of the surrounding villages could be observed all too clearly from the port-hole. Our descent into Bombay in a VC10 was memorable as the rain was torrential, and still as torrential when we took off. (In fact the whole journey was memorable, since after departing twelve hours late the machine burst a number of tyres landing at Perth in a wind; and a fellow passenger was a "gorilla" as I heard it, sitting down the back, sedated, and off-loaded at Cairo. And how the Cairo baggage-handlers scratched themselves!) Can any one tell us more about the personages - four are there not? - and items in the scene depicted, and what they are doing?
