In regard to the Bach Passion, what is the sex of the Dunedin Consort, does any one know? In other words, will the performance be authentic or - what is most likely - not?

Tomorrow's performance of Johann Sebastian Bach's St John Passion will not be authentic by gender, Uncle Henry, at least according to the photograph on the Dunedin Consort website: Dunedin Consort - St John at the PROMSThe gender split looks around 50:50, although for instrumentalists, it would probably be impossible for anyone to tell the difference. As for live television performances of the 2017 Proms, the schedule has been manipulated so that there are relatively few truly live relays of Proms performances at all. BBC - Proms - TV Schedule
