Vernon Lee was the nom-de-plume used by Violet Paget, who was born near Boulogne in 1856. Here we present her five novels. Here would appear to be yet another case of mistimings (like the suffragette one mentioned a while ago), since she died in 1935, some 4½ years before the onset of WWII.
