Good evening to you all! I trust that all is well with all of you this weekend. Due to unprecedented demand from around the world, everyone reading ' The Third' is cordially invited to the Ministry of Sound 25th Birthday party from 20:00 (GMT) on Wednesday 14 December 2016. If you cannot skate, the party may be sold out anyway, join us for a drink at Somerset House or here online instead. The choice is yours!

Poor old "Tom" whatever has lost my custom by: 1) not publishing his surname (actually I found it, it is "Aikens") 2) shortening his Christian name in a vulgar fashion 3) not publishing his prices - would we do better to stay at home? we wonder 4) cooking too many eggs In fact our members may read all about his private life and many divorces here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Aikens

Tom's Kitchen is no longer the best restaurant in Somerset House, Sydney. Have you ever heard of the Australian chef, Skye Gyngell? A couple of years ago, Skye started a restaurant called Spring in the newly converted west wing, and although it is now Winter, Spring will probably have the edge on Wednesday night. Spring is housed in a restored nineteenth century drawing room that had previously been closed to the public for 150 years. The majesty, the marble, the modernity, the gigantic mirrors. The sound of the Ministry of Sound may not always appeal, so if you want to eat, the best bet would be for everyone to come to Spring promptly at nine thirty on Wednesday night! Spring

Due to unprecedented demand from around the world, New Year's Eve, too, has also sold out, but everyone reading ' The Third' is still more than welcome to join us for lunch at Spring until 14:30 (GMT) on Saturday 31 December 2016. Spring RestaurantIf you cannot make Somerset House at all on New Year's Eve, why not come on New Year's Day instead? Join us all promptly at 20:30 (GMT) on Sunday 1 January 2017 to watch ' Sherlock'. BBC One (television) - Sherlock - The Six Thatchers
