If I may address all your questions directly, Gerard: 1. Is there life on Mars are any Members in a position to say? No, we are not in a position to say. I suspect not, although it is possible that the universe is teeming with life. BBC News - Is there life on Mars?2. And what is life anyway? Astrobiology - What is life? It’s a Tricky, Often Confusing Question2a. Are a mother and a father and their offspring necessary to life? No. Reproduction need not be sexual! 2b. Is the ability to think rationally necessary to life? No. 2c. Are in fact individual entities necessary to life? No. 2d. What is the smallest possible form of life? I do not know. Wikipedia - Nanobe2e. What is the largest possible form of life? I do not know. Radiolab - Is There A Giant Life Form Lurking In Our Solar System? Possibly, Say Scientists2f. Is the having of a form even necessary to life? I do not know. 2g. Does life require a begining, a middle and an end? I do not know. 2h. Is life possible without our own senses of sight, hearing, touch, etc. but with other senses unknown to us? Yes. 2i. Are Scotch women a possible form of life and what are their home duties? Yes. Possibly not to drink too much Scotch, Gerard! So is there? A difficult question, Gerard! Yes?

Thank you for your erudite response kc. That there do exist giant nanobes in the southern latitudes is not widely known, but in fact a colony of them thrives in my own woodshed.

1. Is there life on Mars are any Members in a position to say? Whether there is, has been or might be such is up to specialist scientists to discover and, until such time as incontrovertible proof of such life is provided by such, the question must remain open. 2. And what is life anyway? Hopefully something more than mere existence in certain contexts although, from a scientific standpoint, it merely connotes animism of organisms, however simple, that are not by nature inert. 2a. Are a mother and a father and their offspring necessary to life? Not any longer, although such a combination remains usual. 2b. Is the ability to think rationally necessary to life? It's a great help, although mostly to human life. 2c. Are in fact individual entities necessary to life? I have no idea what you mean by that. 2d. What is the smallest possible form of life? 2e. What is the largest possible form of life? Pass; I'm not an expert on either and, in any case, might not your question better be put as "what are or have been (&c.)"? 2f. Is the having of a form even necessary to life? Yes. 2g. Does life require a begining, a middle and an end? Again, there might be a difference in this between human life and the life of other organisms but, at least until any life form might continue indefinitely (which is not yet known to be the case), the answer is yes. 2h. Is life possible without our own senses of sight, hearing, touch, etc. but with other senses unknown to us? Again, I've no idea what you're suggesting here. 2i. Are Scotch women a possible form of life and what are their home duties? I have no idea what relevance this question might have to the remainder of your series of questions but I would first counsel that Scotch is an amber liquid of varying quality but which at its best is a major credit to my country; it is not and never has been a woman or a term applicable thereto! Women in Scotland are, of course, a form of human life like any and all other human women, so the reasoning, if any, behind your question is therefore unknown to me. What their "home duties", if any, might be will inevitably vary from one Scottish woman to another, just as is the case elsewhere. Mon Dieu! - what an utterly bizarre question!
