Due to unprecedented demand from around the world, everyone reading 'The Third' is cordially invited to the Oscars, or for a special screening of The Big Short promptly at 20:15 (GMT) on Wednesday 24 February 2016.
"Based on Michael Lewis’ non-fiction book, and moving between drama and documentary throughout, McKay’s film dramatises the years leading up to the housing and credit crash of 2008. It follows four men in the world of high-finance as they foresee the bubble’s collapse and decide to take on the big banks for their greed and lack of foresight."
There is something of a mismatch between the Oscars and the critics' 20 best films of 2015. I suppose that there is going to be a conflict between critical and popular taste, although the two occasionally intersect!
