Now you're being silly Mr. H! How so? One knows the meaning of a word only if one is, like the aforementioned editors, able to use it correctly. Quite so - but then are you seeking seriously to suggest that I do not know how to use the word "wise" and its derivatives? And further, in regard to the sweep we have already pointed out that, not being wise, it is for governance that he is unsuitable and unauthorized. Now it's you that's being silly! How many chimney-sweeps harbour ambitions top be prime ministers, chancellors of the exchequer et al? What was being discussed was not so much governance as the right to vote for or against those who might be elected to govern (and to your use of the pronoun "he" here I must comment that there are also female chimney-sweeps - the last person to sweep mine was a woman).

. . . are you seeking seriously to suggest that I do not know how to use the word "wise" and its derivatives? Consider very carefully: A: All judges are bald men. B. Who determines who bald men are? A. What a silly question! X. All judges are wise. Y. Who determines who "the wise" are? X. What a silly question! Do you perhaps see see more clearly now Mr. H. how you came to your present state of extreme perplexity and uncertainty?

Do you perhaps see see more clearly now Mr. H. how you came to your present state of extreme perplexity and uncertainty? No, not least least because I have not come to such a state in the first place; the perplexity and uncertainty is not mine but in your statements. Baldness is baldness and, as such, readily identifiable and hardly a matter of opinion or requiring judgement. Wisdom is a far more complex phenomenon than baldness and its nature and presence are open to question in those whom some profess to possess it. It is clear that "all judges" are neither bald nor wise; were they so, those who are not already bald would have first to engineer their own baldness in order to enable them to fulfil their professional positions and, moreover, were all judges wise, there would be no miscarriages of justice. Lastly, why would all judges be men anyway (as you appear to imply here)? There is thus no such thing as "the wise" to the extent that everyone agrees upon their wisdom; likewise, there can be no guarantee, for that reason and others, that those elected to govern will be wise (or bald, for that matter).

Well, I suppose that if there were more women in Hougoumont, ahinton, there would be less baldness and more wisdom? The Opening Night Gala of this year's London Film Festival will be at 19:00 on Wednesday 7 October 2015 at Odeon Leicester Square. BFI - SuffragetteUnfortunately, it is sold out, but would you not support the Suffragettes, Sydney?

Indeed - but quite what baldness or otherwise and wisdom or otherwise might have to do with the topic remains less than clear, perhaps fortunately... would you not support the Suffragettes, Sydney? Did Chopin play the bass saxophone?
