Sarawak Worthy of note here are: 1) the 1895 cent, not listed in the trans-Atlantic catalogues and 2) the 1927 fifty cents - I don't even remember where I got it from. Sarawak was (and is) a territory on the north-west coast of Borneo. It came to the Brooke family from the Sultan of Brunei in 1841. Then in 1846 it became a British colony, and in 1963 joined Malaya, Sabah and Singapore in the formation of Malaysia.
