Picture Postcard twenty-sevenMount Kinabalu is a peak in North Borneo (or Sabah), 13,435 feet above sea level. I would have liked to walk up it alone in one day from sea level, but this was and is made more or less impossible due to various hurdles set up by the "management". So the closest I got was Kota Kinabalu (formerly Jesselton), which looking at the Wikipedia photo-graphs seems to have changed utterly since I was there. "Laban Rata Resthouse" is a kind of half-way point, and "Panar Laban" refers simply to the two primitive huts out the back seen on our card. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Kinabaluwww.climbingmtkinabalu.com/2011/10/panar-laban-huts-accommodation-at-laban.html
