Have members yet watched Maurice Béjart's ballet to Ludwig van Beethoven's ninth symphony, done it would seem in Japan? A tremendous unexpected pleasure. All too often ballet dancers pay only passing attention to the rhythms of their music, but here every one was clearly at the top of his form and every move precisely timed. The orchestra is a proper symphony orchestra with a proper conductor and proper singers. Only one quibble: would it not be more seemly were male dancers to cover their tops as they do their bottoms? Art and Nature can never be reconciled can they, and who wants to see muscles? concert.arte.tv/fr/la-neuvieme-de-maurice-bejartYou may need to use a proxy or a VPN.
