A hitherto unrecorded phenomenon of Nature. None of the green things sticking to the window is an entire leaf; they are all fragments: shreds. In fact these new leaves appeared on the tree only a week ago, and to-day's gale, which lasted for twelve hours or so, caused the branches to rub together, and the shreds to adhere to my windows. The tree itself still has a green appearance, but upon inspection it may be observed that almost all its remaining leaves have been damaged. I wonder whether it will bear fruit this year?

Trees generally like a lot of wind, Sydney, so I would not worry too much about a few shredded leaves on your window!
