I just tuned in "live" to BBC R3, to hear some of the most cack-handed sub-Lloyd-Webber tripe I've every heard.
"Happy Birthday, Dr Who", apparently.
Those who thought the Last Night could sink no lower were wrong.

Those who thought the Last Night could sink no lower were wrong. Indeed! What next? An EastEnders Prom? And yes, I rather think that you would have to sink quite exceptionally low to get to the point of "sub" Lloyd Webber... Anyway, to take away the foul taste of the undelectable Dalek Prom, tonight's opens with the première of A Vision of the Sea by David Matthews, to which I am looking forward.

I should perhaps report that the children loved the Doctor Who Prom!

I should perhaps report that the children loved the Doctor Who Prom! Children of all ages, apparently - I read reports saying that a large number of attendees were adult Whoovians... I believe this ropey stuff is available on Listen Again, if anyone feels like it?

The proms were always for 'chavy sorts' really.
